About the Author
Ian Williamson is a professor of surveying and land information at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Stig Enemark is a professor of land management at Aalborg University, Denmark. Stig Enemark is a professor of land management at AAlborg University, Denmark. Enemark is president and an honorary member of the International Federation of Surveyors as well as past president and an honorary member of the Danish Association of Chartered Surveyors. Jude Wallace is a senior research fellow in the Department of Geomatics at the University of Malbourne. Abbas Rajabifard is an associate professor of spatial data infrastructure and director of the Centre for Spatial Data Infrastructures and Land Administration at the University of Melbourne. Rajabifard is president of the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association.

This is a textbook for me, but it is easy to understand and very thorough. If the subject interests you this book gives excellent historical background about how we got where we are and how to get where we need to go. I will be keeping this book when semester is over--worth a second look. Well written.

Modern concepts, good overall

I was most impressed with this book. When i saw who the authors were i really thought it would have been a compilation of several journal articles.. But i was pleasantly surprised to find that it is a textbook. The layout of the book is fantastic, it is colorful and has relevant pictures which add interest to the topics. The concepts addressed are more focused on modern issues which makes it an excellent addition for a library. However, as a textbook it does not discuss some of the basic concepts of land administration. I teach an intro to land admin course at a university and I have had to use older texts such as McLaughlin and Dale's for the basic concepts. Overall however it is a fantastic book for academics, land admin professionals and even GIS professionals. But for the undergraduate student, it would be more of a secondary reading text than an essential one.
