Knitting Bible

I've been knitting for years, but I don't tend to do complicated patterns. I wanted a reference that would assist me in learning new techniques and stitches. I have found, now that I'm trying new patterns, that I don't know all the abbreviations. After trying to use this book, I ended up returning it. It is filled with information regarding garment making, which is not what I'm focusing on (I mainly knit scarves and hats). The main reason I returned it is that I didn't like the way it was organized. I needed a quick reference for detailed instructions on how to do an abbreviation and I found this hard to navigate in. The index wasn't detailed enough for me to find what I needed, so I found myself browsing though all the sections until I found what I needed. I ended up with "Knitbook: The Basics and Beyond". It's spiral bound, which I LOVE, and I like the simple way it's laid out. All the stitch techniques are in the same place so they're easy to find. But if you mainly make garments, you may like the Ultimate Knitting Bible. It just didn't turn out to be what I was looking for.

This book should be on every knitter's bookshelf. The illustrations are excellent and there are enough that a new technique can be learned in an easy step by step manner. The information contained in the book covers every phase of knitting, not just the functional areas. The instructions for left-handers is excellent as well. If you're looking for the ultimate reference, this is the book for you.

this book was so disappointing. i don't know why i'm surprise cause i just don't enjoy Ms Etan books, but Saucy Romance built it up and i gave it a try won't happen again. I don't know when she move from day to week month or year. don't know when they are think or it happening i was just confused reading it. this is my third book by this author and the only on that was okay was The Billionaire's Surrogate. sorry but i will pass on your books. Maybe it was just me. then the book just END no one apologize, no explanation they just jump in bed and all is okay REALLY!!!REALLY!!!!

Got through the first couple of chapters then had to stop. The story jumped around from scene to scene and was so hard to connect together it was frustrating. I'm so disappointed in this book. Why couldn't it had flowed together?

I am a huge Tartar Sauce/Grumpy Cat fan so naturally I had to have this book. It is basically a compilation of Grumpy Cat memes that you see all over the internet with a few basic activities such as cross word puzzles and connect the dots. The book also features a couple images of Pokey, Dog and Cactus. If I would have had the opportunity to flip through the book at a book store, I would not have purchased the book simply for the lack of diversity in the images. There are tons of images out there of Grumpy Cat, but this book features the same two on every other page, but with a different caption. I was hoping for a more diverse collection of images.

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this, but I'm a fan of Grumpy Cat so I figured why not. Well, it had me roaring with laughter as I flipped through the pages. I shared it with others and got the same reaction. A cute book with great Grumpy Cat photos and sayings. If you are having a bad day, flip through this and you will no doubt cheer up. Highly recommeded, and I say that with a grumpy smile on my face!!!

Amusing and totally in character, Tarder Sauce is at her grumpy best. The illustrations are well put-together and contribute greatly to the whole. The activities are a hoot. I quite enjoyed it.

Sage advice from your favorite Aunt

While not much about demons and where they live, this is a compilation of replies to various reader questions posed to Aunt Klara (portrayed) as a witty, wise and self effacing old sorceress who writes a column for the German publication "Anubis". This alter ego of the author gives practical advice and answers questions on occult subject matter spanning from the mundane to the ridiculous, from the serious to the provocative. I'm glad I read his book at this point in my study because it provided me a level headed practical perspective that emphasizes "if it works continue and if it doesn't discard it"...and, the best teacher may very well be to just try it... of course with the right preparation. If you are new to the topic, read this book; it is fast, fun and informative. If you're experienced, I would expect you will enjoy a heavy dose of rule number 6..."Don't take yourself so seriously"...

Interesting but very broad

The book was interesting but very broad. Many of the questions and answers can be found on other books. This book is presenting information for someone new on the subject. This format Q&A es nice and it would be good to have another similar book for a more advance people on the subject of Magic (including several sections): Theory, Ceremonial, Tarot, Astrology, Sigils, Kabb., etc. I hope we can see it in the near future....

Good general start on magick

Being a complete and utter newwbie to the practice of magick and sorcery, I felt that this was good place to start. The title of the book seemed to give the impression that it was free of the dogma that is normally present in many magical groups and religion. It would be like if I were an athiest and I wanted to go to christian church and I was immidiately bombarded with terms, practices, and spiritual concepts that I had no real connection or understanding. This book approaches individuals in a very friendly and non-intrusive manner, mixed with humor as well. I felt it was very well written and the author doesn't take himself (or the reader) very seriously. Yet at the same time the author does his very best (in my opinion) to answer all the questions that we're all afraid to ask about magick, sorcery, daemonology, and the like. Overall, a great purchase for the individual who feels intimidated to ask those 'forbidden questions' regarding magick.

It works. Pure and simple.

It's hard to review this type of book, so I'd like to tell what happened when I used this book.

I applied online for my dream job. Thanks to my resume I was selected to be interviewed by phone. But thanks to this book I was then selected to be flown me over for an series of in-person interviews.

It was because of this book that I nailed the interviews and was offered the job on the spot after my last interview, something extremely uncommon in my industry.

This book is such a quick an easy read. In fact, she gives away the technique at the beginning of the book. The rest of the book explains how to tweak the technique. Sure, like someone else said, some of the prepared answers to typical interview questions are too cheesy or not realistic, but at least they give you something to use as the foundation for YOUR answers for those questions.

I then used some of her salary negotiation techniques to sucesfully increase the salary amount that they originally offered.

I am now living where I've wanted to live for years, doing a job I enjoy and making over $12k more than at my previous job. This book should cost at least 10 times as much.

One of the best books I had to buy in college and I still use it years later

I had to buy so many books in college and this one is hands down the best one I ever bought and read. It has very applicable information for a range of interviews. I like that is focuses in on certain advice like having a 60-second monologue to answer the typical "tell us a little bit about yourself" introduction to many interviews. I also like how they go through a few examples for a range of fields like marketing, accounting, engineering fields. I have bought this book for friends since I think it is such a valuable tool for prepping for interviews!

This book had some really great, practical advice that came in very useful during my job search. The analysis of what the interviewer is looking for with some of the "tough" questions, and the best ways to answer them was a particularly helpful section. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a job.

This book really made it easy for me to learn the trends

This book really made it easy for me to learn the trends, techniques and the politics that are going behind the formulation of policies of United states at the state level. The same practices are mentioned and narrated in very much detail at state level and the level of counties in the united states. This book was used for my homework at Colorado School of Public Health when I was doing the Masters in Public Health in 2014 - 2016. I graded A + , This book is lengthy but it is interesting, it won't make you tired while you are reading it. l have prepared power points from each of its chapter to understand the book and picture it as whole in my mind.

Mack endures a gauntlet of boozy and hallucinogenic misadventures in and around Manhattan, including culture shock in Koreatown; a bizarre encounter with a bagel-baking Zen master in Washington Square Park; a disastrous visit with his brother Morgan, a highly successful history professor at NYU; an opportunity for sweet revenge at JFK Airport on the professor who sabotaged his tenure case; and a chance to fall in love with the sassy girl who rides “a human carousel” back at the park.

These episodes form the picaresque narrative arc for the novel’s reflective, comic and satiric themes. To wit: the prideful professorial ego and its flipside of guilt, the learned stupidity of academe versus the “unschooled” wisdom of Zen, and the stunning absurdity of so many mores and rituals of academic life (this latter the overripe fruit of the author’s forty years at the university.)

Ultimately, clueless Mack stumbles onto dawning self-awareness, not unlike the character inspiring his creation, Holden Caulfield, in J. D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye. My story of an older, but only marginally wiser, Holden is an affectionate pastiche of the book many regard as “the great American novel.” It is the author’s offering to “Salingerians” everywhere.
