A matter of expectations

This is a review of the paperback edition.
To be fair, it seems this “book” was meant to be in a digital format. It includes some interesting video links and has a multimedia look to it. But I certainly didn’t feel it was worth ten dollars plus shipping costs for the print edition. At only 80 pages, the content is skimpy and repetitive. Almost every page has spelling or grammatical errors. Belying the subtitle, the approach is more anecdotal and philosophical, rather than scientific.
As a beginning student of music, I found the attempts to differentiate rhythm, meter and time signature unclear. The most interesting aspect is the discussion of entrainment, or groove. More experienced musicians may find this useful for connecting to their music and audience. For students of any level, the topic of overcoming self-awareness is critical, but lacks depth and practical detail here.

How is it that a book can get PUBLISHED and SOLD for TEN DOLLARS A PIECE without someone having taken the time to read it through ONE TIME, and fix the mistakes?! I proofread low point homework assignments better than the glance someone gave to this book.
It really grates at me that somebody could have the arrogance to write something and charge money for it before it has even been completed.
I want my money back. Take back your book, and I will buy it when you are finished writing it.
